In der unteren Hälfte sehen wir zwei Hibiskusblüten inmitten von Grün, die von einer umgedrehten stilisierten Lotosblüte, wie wir sie von der indischen Götterwelt kennen, überwölbt werden. Überhöht wird die Szenerie von farbigen „dots“. Diese Punkte haben eine bestimmte Signalwirkung und sind ein beliebtes Stilmittel in der Werbung und in anderen massenkulturellen Gestaltungen.

Der Lotos in den verschiedenen Kulturen komplexe Bedeutungen, die oft ins Metaphysische spielen, während die Hibiskus-Blüte für eine empfindliche, aber doch eindrucksvolle Schönheit steht.

In the lower half, we see two hibiscus blossoms set against a backdrop of greenery, arched over by an inverted, stylized lotus flower, as we know it from Indian mythology. The scene is accentuated by colorful “dots.” These dots serve as a visual cue and are a popular stylistic device in advertising and other forms of popular culture.

The lotus holds complex meanings across various cultures, often touching on the metaphysical, while the hibiscus flower symbolizes a delicate yet striking beauty.

Parnass 01, 2021, Acryl/Collage, 100 x 70 cm

Das Fresko "Der Parnass", gemalt von Raffael um 1511, befindet sich in der Stanza della Segnatura im Vatikan.

Es ist Teil einer Reihe von Wandgemälden, die Raffael für die Räumlichkeiten von Papst Julius II. schuf. Das Werk zeigt den Parnass, den mythischen Berg der Künste und der Dichtung, und stellt Apollo dar, der in der Mitte des Bildes eine Lyra spielt. Um ihn herum versammeln sich die neun Musen sowie große Dichter der Antike und der Renaissance, darunter Homer, Vergil und Dante. Das Fresko symbolisiert die Harmonie und die göttliche Inspiration der Poesie.

In meiner Collage tummeln sich mehrere Musen in einer Bucht der Isola Bella im Lago Maggiore, während zwei Renaissance-Dichter aus einer großen Agave herauswachsen. 

The fresco “Parnassus”, painted by Raphael around 1511, is located in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican.

It is part of a series of murals that Raphael created for the apartments of Pope Julius II. The work depicts Parnassus, the mythical mountain of the arts and poetry, and features Apollo playing a lyre in the center of the painting. Surrounding him are the nine Muses as well as great poets of antiquity and the Renaissance, including Homer, Virgil, and Dante. The fresco symbolizes the harmony and divine inspiration of poetry.

In my collage, several muses frolic in a cove on Isola Bella in Lake Maggiore, while two Renaissance poets emerge from a large agave plant.
