Fiction

Die Bilder dieser Serie, der ich den Titel „Fiction“ gegeben habe, haben eine Anmutung von Science-Fiction. Es erscheinen schemenhaft assoziative Verweise auf Technoides, Natürliches und Humanoides, die auf eigentümliche Weise miteinander verstrickt sind. 

Der Weg von den erkennbaren Comic-Motiven führt in diesen Bildern zu deren Abstraktion. Das Wiedererkennen der Comic-Formen steht am Anfang der Betrachtung und dann beginnt eine Suche, die zu dem Ergebnis führt, dass die Konstruktion von Szenischem rund um Superhelden und andere Comicfiguren nicht gelingt, dass wir es also mit fast abstrakten Formen zu tun haben, in denen das Konkrete des Comics nicht aufgeht.

The images in this series, which I have titled “Fiction,” have a science fiction feel to them. They feature vague, associative references to the technological, the natural, and the humanoid, which are intertwined in a peculiar way.

In these images, the path from recognizable comic motifs leads to their abstraction. The recognition of comic forms marks the beginning of the viewing experience, and then a search begins that leads to the conclusion that the construction of a narrative around superheroes and other comic characters does not succeed—that is, we are dealing with almost abstract forms in which the concrete elements of the comic do not materialize.
